Natural Resources Focus Group

Greetings,
The Comp. Plan’s Environmental Natural Resources Focus group held its second meeting on
Monday, November 16, 2012 at 7:00 PM at Virginia Bryant’s home.
We worked from copies of the Current Comp. Plan’s Environmental Natural Resources
section and also utilized recommendations from the Tompkins County Planning Department.
The committee discussed each section, making some changes. Nancy, as our recorder, compiled
them. Everyone agreed that the new draft revisions are in synch with the comments and
recommendations from the Tompkins County Planning Dept. in their initial review of the old
Comp. Plan.
In addition, we received additional input from Helen Slottje (the Pro-Bono Lawyer who is part of
the team who is charged by the Town with writing up wording for a possible ban on industrial
gas drilling in Enfield).
The revised draft was distributed to all focus committee members for comment on 11/26/12.
The new draft of this section will be presented and discussed at the Town of Enfield Planning
Board Meeting on December 5, 2012
Also we added one objective to the Recreational Assets Section:
Goal 1 Objective 3:
Pursue additional opportunities for public open space and recreational amenities.
