Announcement of the Historical Society meeting April 14, 1993. New officers will be elected for that group. One/two-room schools. Sharon Brown xeroxed some more of the school information to pull together a list of people who attended the one/two-room school houses in Enfield. Denny Newhart asked Blanch (SanSoucie/Lovelace) Stout to help with a school reunion to be held at Newhart's Lodge. She has a flyer that she is putting in the local stores and giving out to interested people. Commemorative Committee donations. Leon Rothermich concerned because his "donations" to the Commemorative Committee were not listed in the Enfield Community Newsletter. Jack Hubbell noted that they were not donated to the Historian's collection and therefore were not listed. Sue Thompson will have them listed in the Commemorative newsletter --due out very shortly. Trivit. Gary Fisher outlined extensive corrections to the "Six -Mile Square Town" trivit made by Martha Chacona. Helen Smith will pass the information on to Martha. Jack Hubbell spoke with Jean Owens, Town Supervisor, who said she had called Albany and confirmed that this committee could not handle money on its own. A workable alternative is being discussed. Jack talked with Keith Bowers about Indian artifacts. (Ellie Hobbie also has a strong interest in artifacts of this type.) Keith says a "dig" may be done on the corner of Carmen Road and Buck Hill Road North this spring. The Mecklenburg church may provide a place for the "diggers" to stay. Gary assumed his "chair" duties and the group went over the proposed book and its proposed chapters and authors.
