Special Meeting 12:00 p.m. March 22, 2004
PRESENT:

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
Vice Chair Tsegaye led all present in the Pledge of Allegiance to the American flag.
SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS:
Award of Contract to Sear-Brown for Governor’s Safety Grant
By Commissioner Schlather: Seconded by Commissioner Romanoff
WHEREAS, the City of Ithaca has been awarded a Governor’s Traffic Safety Grant in
the amount of $61,000.00 for the re-timing of twenty-seven (27) traffic signals within the
Downtown Business District, and
WHEREAS, the City has issued a Request for Proposal and received a response from
Sear-Brown in the amount of $49,940.00 for said project, and
WHEREAS, the project will improve circulation downtown, enhance pedestrian safety,
reduce congestion and delays, enhance vehicular safety, improve air quality, and
reduce fuel consumption; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Board of Public Works hereby awards the contract to develop
improved signal timings to Sear-Brown for their proposal of $49,940.00, and be it
further,
RESOLVED, That the Superintendent of Public Works is authorized to enter into an
agreement with Sear-Brown under the usual terms and conditions.
