PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
Mayor Cohen led all present in the Pledge of Allegiance to the
American flag.
HIGHWAYS, STREETS, SIDEWALK:
Sidewalk Assessments - Certification
By Commissioner Gutenberger, seconded by Commissioner Beach
WHEREAS, sidewalks have been repaired at various locations in
accordance with C-73. Sidewalks - paragraph D of the City Code,
and
WHEREAS, staff has reviewed the cost of repairing these sidewalks
at various properties in 2000, and
WHEREAS, the City Code requires that those costs should be paid
by the owners of these properties; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Board of Public Works certifies the list to be
correct and directs staff to send out notification of these costs
as provided in the City Code.

Authorization to Sign Contract for Design of Meadow Street
Widening
By Commissioner Tsegaye, seconded by Commissioner Gutenberger
WHEREAS, the City wants to widen Meadow Street at Six Mile Creek
and at the curve in the vicinity of K-Mart, and
WHEREAS, the City has authorized this work as part of the
Southwest Area Six Point Plan, Capital Project #447, and
WHEREAS, proposals have been received and evaluated by staff, now
be it
RESOLVED, That the Board of Public Works authorizes the
Superintendent of Public Works to negotiate a contract for design
services with Sear Brown of DeWitt, New York.

Award of Bid for Inlet Island Promenade Wall Construction
By Commissioner Leonardo, seconded by Commissioner Beach
WHEREAS, bids were received on September 30, 2002 for the Ithaca
Inlet Island Promenade Wall Construction, and
WHEREAS, this project will be funded by the Ithaca Urban Renewal
Agency, but requires approval from the Board of Public Works
since it is located on city property, and
WHEREAS, staff has reviewed the bids and recommends that the low
bid for Alternate B be awarded the contract; now, therefore, be
it

RESOLVED, That the Board of Public Works hereby awards the Ithaca
Inlet Island Promenade Wall Construction, Alternate B to M. A.
Bongiovanni, Inc. 1400 Jamesville Ave, P.O. Box 147, Colvin
Station, Syracuse, NY 13205 for their low bid of $457,850, and be
it further
RESOLVED, That the Board authorizes the Superintendent of Public
Works to enter into an agreement with Bongiovanni, Inc. with the
usual terms and conditions.
