October 22, 1998 PRESENT: Mayor Cohen Alderpersons (6) Shenk, Sams, Blumenthal, Manos, Spielholz, Farrell OTHERS PRESENT: Acting Deputy City Clerk – Stickel City Attorney – Geldenhuys City Controller – Cafferillo Human Resources Director – Michell-Nunn GIAC Director - Fort PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Acting Mayor Sams led all present in the Pledge of Allegiance to the American flag. Mayor Cohen arrived at the meeting directly after the Pledge. 2. SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS: 2.1. Establishment of GIAC Deputy Director Position - Resolution By Alderperson Shenk : Seconded by Alderperson Spielholz RESOLVED, that effective January 1, 1999 the Personnel Roster of the Greater Ithaca Activities Center be amended as follows: Delete: One (1) Assistant Activities Center Coordinator Add: One (1) Deputy Director of Greater Ithaca Activities Center And be it further, RESOLVED, that the Deputy Director position be designated as managerial pursuant to Section 201.7a of the Civil Service Law, now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the salary range for the position of Deputy Director be established as $35,875.00 - $46,125.00. Discussion followed on the floor regarding the potential impact on the budget, and how the salary range was determined. A vote on the Resolution resulted as follows: Carried Unanimously October 22, 1998 2 2.2. Greater Ithaca Activities Center Director – Salary Range – Resolution By Alderperson Manos: Seconded by Alderperson Sams RESOLVED, That effective January 1, 1999, the position of Greater Ithaca Activities Center Director be designated as managerial pursuant to Section 201 of the Civil Service Law, and be it further RESOLVED, That the salary range for the position of Greater Ithaca Activities Center Director be established as $41,301 - $61,136.
