SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS
MOTION TO OPEN PUBLIC HEARING:
By Alderperson Johnson: Seconded by Alderperson Hanna
RESOLVED, that a public hearing regarding the designation of Mutual Housing Association of
Tompkins County as Project Sponsor for the sale of land be declared open.
Carried Unanimously
No one appeared to address council.
MOTION TO CLOSE PUBLIC HEARING:
By Alderperson Johnson: Seconded by Alderperson Hanna
RESOLVED, that a public hearing regarding the designation of Mutual Housing Association of
Tompkins County as Project Sponsor for the sale of land be declared closed.

PLANNING AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE:
Designation of Mutual Housing Association of Tompkins County as Project Sponsor for the sale of
land.

WHEREAS, the City of Ithaca supports the goal of creating affordable housing opportunities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Ithaca has transferred to the Ithaca Urban Renewal Agency (IURA) a parcel
of land bounded by the existing Mutual Housing Association of Tompkins County (MHATC) site,
Franklin Street, and a right of way of a new street to be installed by the City, and being a portion of tax
parcel number 25-3-1.2; and
WHEREAS, the proposed improvements to the parcel are consistent with the development goals of
the Urban Renewal Plan and with the conclusions of the Northside Land Use Plan, and will result in an
increase in the stock of affordable housing in the City of Ithaca; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on November 25, 1996; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED that, pursuant to the provisions of section 507 of the General Municipal Law, MHATC
is hereby designated as project sponsor for the sale of the above-described parcel of land. The sale of
the property is hereby approved for a sale price of $1.00. The deed conveying the property to MHATC
shall contain the restrictive covenants and option set forth in Schedule A, which is attached hereto and
made a part hereof.
