OTHERS PRESENT:
City Clerk - Conley Holcomb
City Attorney - Geldenhuys
LAW AND GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE:
Referendum Issues
Alderperson Efroymson stated that the City Clerk has informed him
that she still has not received any notification from the Mayor,
therefore there is nothing to vote on at this time.
Alderperson Efroymson stated that he has spoken with Albany
regarding this issue and the way that the Council has been
interpreting the law is correct. He suggested that the Council
continue to allow itself the greatest opportunity to allow the
public to have their say and to continue this meeting once again
until 11:30 p.m. this evening.
Discussion followed regarding the issue of special elections.
City Attorney Geldenhuys explained the procedures for holding a
special election.
Alderperson Blumenthal left the meeting at 12:30 p.m.

RESOLVED, That this Council recess until 11:30 p.m., September 6,
1996.
