SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS:

Mayor Gutenberger su mi.t�te� tie Execut�.ve Budget: Proposal. as follows:
"I herewith submit my Executive Budget Proposal for the City of
Ithaca which calls for an expenditure of $1.5 1.95,607. for Elie
General Fund. This reflects an increase of 740,585 over the 7985
amended budget of $14,455.016 or a 5.1% increase in the overall.
cost in operating our City government. Revenues, other than Real
Property Taxes, is being proposed at $10,038.800, an increase. of
$669.279 over the 1985 Amended Budget of $9,369,521 or a 7.10
increase. To balance the 1986 budget, I am proposing that $663,336
of unappropriated surplus be used and that $4,493,465 be raised from
Real Property Taxes. The amount to be raised from taxes will re-
quire a 6.So increase or a tax rate of $1.4.80m, a. $.90m increase
from our present rate of $13.90m."
Mayor Gutenberger summarized the increase in the costs as they
relate to the proposed 1986 Executive Budget.
Resolution

RESOLVED, That the Mayor's Budget for 1986, as presented, be
received by the Council and be referred to the Budget and Admini-
stration Committee for review.

Budget and Administration Committee
Chairman Dennis announced that t e Budget and Administration
Committee will meet on Wednesday, October 30, 1985 instead of
the 31st, their regular meeting date.
