SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS: Appointment of Fire C ief Mayor Guten erger requested approval of the Council for the permanent appointment of Edward M: Olmstead, Jr., 58 Spring Run Road, Freevi_lle, N.Y., to the position of Fire Chief at a salary of $36,744, to be effective on Monday, July 29, 1985. Discussion followed on the floor. Resolution By Alderperson Dennis: Seconded by Alderperson Haine RESOLVED, That this Council approves the appointment of Edward M. Olmstead, Jr. to the position of Fire Chief at a salary of $36,744, to take effect July 29, 1985, Amending Resolution By Alderperson Schlather: Seconded by Alderperson Holdsworth RESOLVED, That the salary figure for the position of Fire Chief be reduced to $3S,360. Discussion followed on the floor. A vote on the amendment resulted as follows: Ayes (2) - Holdsworth, Schlather Nays (6) - Peterson, Hoffman, Killeen, Haine, Dennis, Cummings Absent (2) - Myers, Romanowski Motion Defeated After further discussion, a vote on the main motion resulted as follows: Ayes (6) - Peterson, Hoffman, Killeen, Haine, Dennis, Cummings Nays (2) - Holdsworth, Schlather Absent (2) - Myers, Romanowski Carried Mr. Olmstead took the Oath of Office and was sworn in by the City Clerk.
