CITY OF ITHACA, NEW YORK
Special Fleeting 10:00 P.M. February 16, 1982
PRESENT:

Fire Chief - Tuckerman
Police Chief - Herson

Fire Commissioner - Anderson
Fire Lieutenant - Van Benschoten

WHEREAS, the City's application for funds for Arson Prevention and
Control activities has been approved in the amount of $5,800;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That Mayor William R. Shaw be
authorized to sign the Agreement between the City of Ithaca and the
State of New Yorke:
Discussion followed on the floor.
A vote on the resolution resulted as follows:
Ayes (9) - Banfiold, Roffman, dolman, Killeen, Clynes, Myers,
Holdsworth, Schlather, Schuler
Nay (1) - Dennis
Carried
Further discussion followed concerning the possibility of consolidating
city and county arson action efforts.
Resolution
By Alderman Dennis; Seconded by Alderman Holdsworth
RESOLVED, That the comments and concerns of the council regarding
the possibility of consolidation be referred to the human Services
Committee to be reviewed at a special committee meeting anti report
back to the Council at their regular March meeting.
Carried Unanimously
ADJOURNMENT:
On a notion the meeting adjourned at 10:55 p.m.

WHEREAS, the City of Ithaca has submitted a
request for a
grant of
funds to the New fork State Office of Fire
Prevention and
Control.,
and
WHEREAS, the City's application for funds for Arson Prevention and
