C.A. 11r. Hutchinson, in behalf of the S.P.C.A. , Dogs requested the Council to authorize the renewal of the usual annual contract with that Society for the licensing of dogs. By Alderman Comfort: seconded by Alderman Hoffman: RESOLVED: that the ,.ayor and City Clerk be author- ized to execute and renew the contract with the S.P.C.A. Carried Resurfacing Mr. Hutchinson and sir. Brooks ap,aeared N.Cayuga St. informally in behalf of property owners along that portion of North Cayuga Street for which assess:.ients were levied for resurfacing in 1930. They asked that a refund be allowed or a credit against future taxes be authorized to the extent of the amounts paid by the various property owners for this resurfacing. They claimed that this assessment worked an injustice to these property owners because property owners on the same street south of Cascadilla Creek, as well as those owning property where resurfacing was done in 1931 paid no assessment. After some discussion it was agreed that they should take the matter up after the first of the year with the new A dmi ni st rat i on. 2% Sales The Mayor briefly outlined the features of Tax the proposed 2% sales tax agreed to by the l:ayorls Conference while in session in Syracuse. He explained how, with other safeguards proposed, the major portion of the sales tax would be returned to the cities to reduce their bonded debt and materially relieve the tax on real estate. Sanitary The Clerk reported that the Board of Sewer Public Works had secured consents froi~i Rights—of--way certain property owners to cross their properties with a new 1211 sanitary sewer, and that they requested the Council to authorize the 'rayor and City Clerk to execute the for;_la,l agreements for such right s--of—way. By Alderman Co:.lfort : seconded by Alderman Sa_inions: RESOLVED: teat the l,ayor and City Clerk be and they hereby are authorized to execute the rights—of—way agreements with the D.L. & W.R.R. the L.V.R.R. , the New York State Electric & Gas Corporation and Cornell University covering the construction and maintenance of a 1211 sanitary sewer and appurtenances across their properties. Carried Assessment The attached co-L.lunication i7as received from Expunged the City Assessor reco,-_l:.iending that X1.06 be expunged fron the current tax roll because of the renoval of two boat houses situated on leased land. C.0. - �2� 12-8-1933 The Clerk reported that the Compton boat-house had been assessed last year and sold for taxes# to the City and a tax deed issued. In view of the fact that this boat- house has since been demolished and removed, he reco n.lended that $2. 62 being the amount set. up as property owned by the City as result of tax deed should be ordered expunged. Carried Appropria-- In the absence of ComnI ssioner Green, tion Charity the Clerk suggested that an appropriation of 06, 000 should be made at this time in order to beet the current expenses of the Charity Dept. Carried. By Alderman Gill: seconded by Alderman Sammons: RESOLVED: that the bills audited and approved by the Finance Committee be and the sage hereby are approved and ordered paid. Carried.
