ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 27, 1933

0.7a.A. Mayor Bergholtz reported the Board of Public
Wroj ect s Works had approved certain work projects as a
C.W.A. program, which he had already submitted
to the State C.W.A. and secured the tentative
approval of, and that the Board requested an appropria-
tion of X19, 000 to cover the cost of the materials,
supplies and equipment necessary to the prosecution of
these projects. There was a general discussion of
the program.
By Alderman Rogalsky: seconded by Alderman Sam-eons:
WHEREAS, the amount of money appropriated in the
current budget for Charity and Home Relief ($46, 302) was
exhausted on or about August lst and
WHEREAS to temporarily finance these necessary
expenditures, additional money has from time to time been
borrowed and appropriated from surplus and unappropriated
revenues, and
THEREAS, the total additional amount required
to Supplement the original budget appropriation is now
determined to be $20,000, now therefore,
RESOLVED: that pursuant to the provisions of
Chap. 259 Sec. 10 of the Laws of 1933, the Common
Council of the City of Ithaca hereby authorizes the
issuance of notes or other temporary obligations of the
City of Ithaca in the total ^.:Mount of $20,000 for the
purpose of providing funds for the Charity Department for
the payment of the cost of Home Relief in excess of the
amount appropriated in the Budget for 1933, and
further,
RESOLVED: that the City Clerk is hereby authorized
to complete such loan and credit the proceeds for the
purpose above setforth, and thereupon to credit back the
amounts heretofore borrowed and appropriated from
surplus and unappropriated revenues for the temporary
relief of the Charity Department.

RESOLVED:that $19, 000 be and the sane is hereby
appropriated fro=m surplus and unappropriated revenues
to the C.:7.A. account for the payment of materials,
supplies, equip=ment etc. , as the Cityts share of the
cost of such projects.
