Alderman--Sammons,Gill, Lowe,Myers,Cornfort ,Campbell, Townsend,Hoffman Attorney--Treman PORK The Clerk reported that the Board of Public Works RELIEF had filed a. requisition for $25,,650 for the purpose of continuing work relief. The items were considered in detail and on motion of Alderman Gill Item 2, $6,500 for repairing bridges was stricken out. By Alderman Gill: seconded by Alderman Myers: WHEREAS, the Common Council, at a meeting on June 19, 1933, authorized by resolution the borrowing of x$24,400 for the purpose of securing additional monies for the continuation of Work Relief, and WHEREAS, the Comrnon Council at a meeting on September 6, 1933 duly increased this authorization by $13,000, and WHEREAS, all the work authorized by each of these resolutions has been about completed and the Board of Public Works has requested additional appropriations to continue Work Relief, mow therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, that the request of the Board of Public Works be approved and pursuant to Section 10 of Chap. 798 of the Laws of 1931 as amended and other applicable Sections of said chapter and amendments thereto, The Common Council of the City of Ithaca hereby authorizes the issuance of interest bearing notes or other obligations of the City of Ithaca at an interest rate not to exceed 6% in the sum of 4$12,150 labor and/or $7,000 material, a total sum of $19,150 or such part thereof as may be required, such notes or obligations to conform to the requirements of said section, in order to provide funds for the use of the Board of Public Works and the Work Bureau to 1znderta.ke the Work Relief Projects herein listed, each and all of which are hereby approved, to wit: Cost Mat. Invest iga.t ion Ad,-lns St.Clain 200 - 200 10.E .Stete St. , 150 15-0 300 Totals $12150 17000 X19150 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the money borrowed in pursu- ance of this authorization be and the same is hereby specifically appropriated in the sum of 4$12,150 labor and/or $7,000 material a total sure of $19,150 to the Nork Relief account for Work Relief under the regulations of the T.E .R.A. and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the full faith and credit of the City of Ithaca, N.Y. ,be and the same hereby is pledged for the payment of principal and interest on said obligations herein authorized and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that the City Clerk hereby is authorized and directed to include in each subsequent budget and tax levy a sum sufficient to meet such obligations as the same shall become due. Ayes--S Nays--0 Carried and approved. Hunting The Clerk read letters from C.A. Taylor,E.Lawrence "Hog Hole} Palmer and Sherman Peer protesting against the proposed change in the City Ordinance which pould permit the shooting of water fowl from the north shore of the Airport. The City Attorney read the proposed Ordinance and the same was thoroughly discussed by the Alderman. 288 C.C. —2— oct.16,1933 By Alderman Campbell: seconded by Alderman Gill: RESOLVED: that Section 33 of Chap. II of the City Ordinances be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows and to take effect upon publication: Chap.11,Section 33. No person shall hunt, pursue or kill with a gun or firearm any wild animals,fowls or birds, or engage in hunting, within the city limits of the City of Ithaca. No person shall discharge or cause to be discharged,any gun or firearm in the City of Ithaca, except peace officers in the discharge of their duties. The foregoing provisions of this section shall not apply to a.. person while legally hunting wild water fowl over the waters of Cayuga Lake west of a line drawn due north and south from the westernmost point of the west breakwater of the turning basin at the mouth of Cayuga Inlet; but no person shall discharge, or cause to be discharged, any gun or firearm from any breakwater or in such manner that anyshot or bullet therefrom shall travel east of said line or over any land beyond 20 feet from the then water line at the south and vest shores of said lake Violation of this ordinance shall constitute disorderly conduct.
