Minutes Minutes of the pre cedi_zg fleeting duly approved.
Hunting Hr. Post, representing the Tompkins County Fish
"Hog Hole" and Game Club, called attention to a petition
filed with the Council in December 1932 requesting
that the taking of legal water fowl be permitted along
the north shore of the Airport and the west shore of
the La::e frori the Inlet to the north City line.
By Alderman Iiyers: seconded by Alderman Swmmons:
RESOLVED: that the request be approved and the
ratter referred to the Ordinance Coi_raittee with
instructions to draft an amendrnent to Sec. 23, Chap. II
of the City Ordinances to accomplish the desired change.

Damage The Clerk reported that two papers purporting to be
Claims damage claiils for street accidents had been filed;
one on September 27th by Evil G. Conason and one on
October 3rd by Etta Jackson Hackley, each of which had
been referred to the City Attorney. The City Attorney
reported that investigations had not yet been completed
and at his suggestion the clairls were referred to
Committee.
St.Lawrence The fayor reported on his attendance in Albany
Waterway at the N.Y. Waterways Association meeting. He
atated he was opposed to the St.Lawrence
Naterways project, and reco-niended that the Aldermen
go on record as also being opposed.

RESOLVED: that the Cora:.lon Council hereby endorses
the i{ayor l s views, and is opposed to the execution
of the St.Lawrence Waterways project.

Tax The City Chamberlain read requests fro-::
Penalties W.T. Thomas and the Unitarian Society to waive the
Waived collection of penalty on their City Taxes for
late payment, claiming in each case that their
chec',,s were mailed in good faith well before the
penalty period and that the checks were lost. The check
book stubs were exhibited to substantiate their clairl
and the Cha:-.lberlain recoim.lendea. approval of the requests.
On motion of Alderman Sai.i:_ZOns the Cha: berlain was
authorized to accen_ t new checks for these tax pay_.1ent s
without penalty.
Ch, iberlainIs The City Chamberlain reported that Iars.Waltz
Office was slowly recovering, but is not yet able to
Extra help return to work. He,therefore, request od an
appropriation of 0234.00 to continue until Dec. 31st. ,
the Work Relief project for additional help in his office.

RESOLVED: that $234. 00 be and the sale is hereby
appropriated froi-i surplus f aids to the Work Relief
account to continue the payrlent of wages for an extra
clerk needed in the Charlberlaints office to Dec. 31st. ,
or until the prior return of ;.:rs. 17,altz.

Bank Chamberlain Snyder reported that all the local
Interest Banks had agreed to ca ply with the nets State
Law rlaking it ::landatory for the:--z to pay interest
on de-mand deposits of .iunicipalities. He
sub:_zitted written agree._ients fro::: each Bank wherein

they agreed to pay interest at the rate of 1% per
an_zum on minimum monthly balances, on all active
deposits of $1, 000 or more.

RESOLVED: that the agreements submitted
by the Banks be approved.
Carried.
Appro. Commissioner Green asked for an additional
Charities appropriation of $5, 000 to meet the cost of
welfare relief for the past month; his Budget
appropriation being exhausted and the audit of bills
just approved being estimated at that figure.
By Alderman Gills seconded by Alderman Sammons:
RESOLVED: that $5, 000 be and the same is
hereby appropriated from surplus funds to the
Charity Department.
Carried.
Audit By Alderman Gill: seconded by Alderman Sa.imons:
RESOLVED: that the bills audited and approved
by the Finance Committee be and the sane hereby are
approved for payment.
Carried.
Stewart Alderman I.vers reported for the Police
Avenue Committee in regard to Hr. Smith 's petition
Parking to permit parking on at least one - side of
Stewart Avenue north of Cascadilla Creek, that they
recommend that there be no parking on either side of
Stewart Avenue from Williams Street to Edge lore Lane,
and also on the east side of Stewart Avenue from
Williams Street to State Street. On notion, the
recommendation was approved and so ordered.
