PRESENT--Mayor Bergholtz Aldermen--Saxamons,Gill, Causer, Lowe,11yyers, Comfort,Campbell,Townsend,Hoffman Attorney--Treman Engineer--Eustance Minutes of the preceding meeting were duly approved. Local The hayor reported that 7 days had elapsed since Law the proposed Local Law No.2 was tentatively No.2 approved and laid on the table in accordance with the provisions of the Home Rule Law and recommended that the same be now acted upon. During the discussion of the changes contemplated by this amendment, City Attorney Treman again voiced his objections to its passage. By Alderman Sam.nons: seconded by Alderman flyers: RESOLVED, that the Local Law, considered, approved and read into the Minutes of the meeting of August 2, 1933, be and the same hereby is so enacted by the Common Council as Local Law N0. 2,1933. Ayes--8 Nays--1 (Lowe) Carried Appro, Judge Crowley and Commissioner Green discussed Welfare with the Council the employment of extra help for the Dept, Welfare and Work Relief Departments and requnsted the Alderman to approve land make an appropriation to cover the cost of such services as might be necessary, together with an appropriation to cover the mileage travelled by the nurses and insurance adjuster, By Alderman Gill: seconded by Alderman Sa.rmnons: RESOLVED: that $1,000 be and the same hereby is appropriated from Current Surplus to the Work Relief Account for the payment of wages of necessary additional administrative employees for the Mork Bureau and Welfare Departments Carried By Alderman Gill; seconded by Alderman Sammons: RESOLVED:. that $200 be nmd the same hereby is appropriated from Current Surplus to the Welfare Department for car mileage. Carried Central The Council discussed with ?,?r, Hickey a bill Index received from L_rs. Wigley for services rendered in connection with the operation of the Central Index. On notion of Alderman Cazipbell, the Finance Com- mittee and Charity Committee were authorized to adjust the matter with power. Federal Mayor Bergholtz reported that since the Co.-,r on Aid Council had tentatively approved the list of projects Prograr_1 for a Federal Aid program, the Engineer had glade r_iore complete and detailed surveys and estim-ates of the costs and that the Board of Public Works had changed and added some projects to replace the East State Street paving project which, in the irlean tir_ze, had been taken over by the State. He reco:.v.iended the revised list be approved. There was a general discussion and detailed consideration of each of the projects proposed. 282 B.C. --2- -14-33. SANITARY SEWERS 1.Court St. 10, 500- G. 638E$- 900 be and the sane hereby axe each and all approved for submission to the Federal Aid Ad-ministrator, together with all other estinates,papers, plans etc. ,necessary to the submission of these projects.
