Work 'Hayor Bergholt z reported that the list of projects Relief suggested as a ?York Relief Program to be undertaken on the State College grounds with the aid of the T.E.R.A. and Cornell University, had been thoroughly studied and finally reduced to a total of about $60, 000 by omitting projects that were undesirable. He stated that the _projects included, would give work to the ";mite Collared Class" as well as skilled -iechanics. He also pointed out that one of the projects would be a direct benefit to the City; being an intercepting sanitary sewer constructed across the Campus to relieve the congested condition of the State Street :Hain by transferring a large portion of the University sewage to the University Avenue--Lake Street main. There was a general discussion of the proposition during which the various projects were considered in detail. Alderman S&zmons stated that the. Committee, appointed at tivie last meeting to investigate this proposition, had not met to consider the same and should therefor be relieved. Alderman dyers moved that the Committee be relieved and that the Oommon Council consider the proposi- tion as Committee of the Whole. The motion was seconded by Alderman Gill and carried. By Alderman Causer: seconded by Alderman Comfort : RESOLVED: that the request and recom-mendation of the Board of Public Works be approved and granted and further, RESOLVED: that the necessary money, to the extent of 4o% of the labor cost, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated on condition that the T.E.R.A. approve the proposal and make available the remaining 601 of the labor cost and further, that all other extras such as :laterial, supervision, equipment, etc. ,be furnished without cost to the City by the State Colleges or Cornell University.
