Minutes of the preceding meeting were duly approved.

Sale As a special order of business, the Kayor announced the
receipt of proposals for the purchase of the $275,000
Series H Improvement Bonds previously authorized and duly
advertised for sale as required by lacy.

be closed and the bids received, opened and read.

RESOLVED: that the sale of the $275, 000 Series H
Improvement Bonds be and the same hereby is awarded to the
Marine Trust Company of Buffalo, Yew York in accordance
with the terms of their bid at an interest rate of 441%
and at a premium of $3, 242. 25 plus accrued interest
to the date of delivery of the bonds.

RESOLVED: that the Clerk be authorized and directed
to return the certified checks of the unsuccessful bidders,
Carried and Approved.
Mayor Bergholtz announced that the 'Temporary Emergecry
Relief Administration had approved three iteras of work
relief submitted to them that were approved at the
previous meetings.
The i:iayor explained that the State Hospital work
embraced in these iteras could not be mndertaken at the
present time and submitted the following list of other
projects that could be immediately undertaken for the
benefit of the unemployed:-

from the Improvement Fund to cover the cost thereof.

A communication from the City Assessor recommended that
the City Taxes of 58¢ against LeGrand Milks and 29¢ against
Ralph Elli a be expunged against the boat houses ,covered by thibs asses,-
went .,whieb had been removed, and also that 057.71 City Tax assessed
against H.C. Hoefle be expunged by reason of a double assessment.

RESOLVED: that the recom:nendation of the Assessor be
approved and the expungei_ient authorized.

Claim A damage claim was received from Fred B. Lamphier
for actual costs of repairing his car that was damaged when a City
tree, alleged to have been decayed fell on the car while the
same was parked at #310 N. Aurora §treet.
On :_lotion of Alderman Sarysons the claim was referred to the
Board of Public Works, City Forester and City Attorney for
Un e cor=endat i on.
RR N'ca+he Clerk read a proposed amendment b6tween the City and
Cornell University for the exchange of lands in connection with the
establishment of a University Biological Field Station north of
the City du:ip. The agreement had been previously approved by the
Board of Public Works, Stewart Parr Co=-.r_,ission and Cornell Universit-

Attorney Treman reported that their appeared to be an
opportunity to transfer the Gertrude Sinn property on Cliff Street
which the City obtained by tax deed in 1928y In consideration of
the purchaser payiag si::,ple interest on all past dTlo taxes that
could have been collected plus a 10% additional penalty and
reco,maended that such arrange:lent be approved with the further

understanding that the purchaser should also pay
the equivalent of the current yearts taxes.

RESOLVED: that the recorniendation of the City
Attorney be approved and the;. ayor and Clerk
authorized to execute the necessary deed.

arP Attorney Treman read a proposed ordinance setting–
forth rules and regulations for Stewart Park and its
environs, and the same was referred to the Board of
Public Works and Stewart Park Coa:aission for final
Audit approval; and adoption at the _August meeting.

RESOLVED: that the bills audited and approved
by the Finance Coriaittee be be and the same hereby are
approved and ordered paid.
Resurfacing Carried .
Assessments Alderman Lowe reported on the work of the Conziittee
in drafting the auehdment, as directed at a previous
meeting, to make the cost of resurfacing a general City
charge instead of a property frontage assess:--zent. He
pointed out that 5 of the 6 officials and Committee
members workixig- on the amendment did not favor such a
charge and he stated various reasons for such an
attitude.. There was considerable informal discussion
on the amendment.
Attorney Treman stated that in his opinion the w
resurfacing done last year, such as Green Street, should
in any event be assessed.

RESOLVED: that the proposed amendment be laid
on the table for at least 7 days and then taken up for
action at the next meeting.
