Minutes of the preceding meeting were
duly approved.

Washington In connection with the National Observation

Doctor Calling attention to the large number o-L,`
Bills Hospital and Doctor bills in the Charity Audit,
ty Alderman Causer asked if something could be dd`ne
to reduce this expense pointing out that one
Doctor's bill alone totaled over $300 and that
the entire group account being almost half of `.

Comzrissioner Green and the Alderman discussed
the problgm, but found no solution.
Transfer of By Alderman Causer: seconded by Alderman Sarmmons:
Charity RESOLVED: that the transfer -of $2, 600 be and

to the Board of Public Works to the 'appropriation
for,the Charity Department.

Re�'und The Clerk stated that the City Engineer reports
that the curbing assessment of $35.00'p6,ia by
Alice Y. Elyea, for 50 foot frontage at #442 N. Titus Ave.,
was $1.x-0 too much since the frontage should have been
48 feet making the assessment $3 .60 ana that he
recommended that a refund of $1.1!-0- be authorized.

RESOLVED: that the recommenc-Lation' of the
Engineer be approved and a refund of $1:4-0 be made
to Alice M. Elyea.

Donovan Reporting on a matter referred to`him at a
Property previous meeting Alderman Causer stated that the best
price that he could secure for the Watkins property
on Taughannock Boulevard. is $1,750 and for the
Donovan property - $1, 500. In this connection
Engineer Eustance explained in detail the advantages
in obtaining title to these properties at this time
in, order to simplify and materially aid in the
construction of the proposed concrete pavement in
Taughannook Boulevard.

RESOLVED:that the purchase of these properties
at the figures mentioned be approved and the Finance
Comm ittee authorized to procure the same for the City.

T:ies �age The Clerk read an Emergency Message from the
Mayor in connection with a local law to' amend the
Ithaca City Charter with relation to sidewalks and the
pokers of the Boare_ of Public Works in relation thereto;
but the matter was laid on the table in View of the
fact that there were not sufficient Alderman present
to' obtain the required tiro-thirds votes.

The Mayor reported that he had been
preparing a program of Winter Fork t6 relieve
the Charity Department and would present the
same at the meeting of the Board of Public Works
next week and suggested that the Council
adjourn at his call so that he might get them
_ together to' consi der the program so after
the Board had agreed upon- it.
