Fire Commissioners--Button,Burns,Gillet±e Fire Chief- -Reilly Attorney--Treman The Mayor announced the particular purpose of this meeting was to consider in detail the Budget estimates and requisition of the Fire Commissioners ' for the current year. The Clerk then read each item as detailed on the original Budget and the same was either agreed to unanimously or decided by vote as follows: By Alderman Sammons: seconded. by Alderman Myers: RESOLVED: that the items of ° 200 for extra work for Department and $300 for extra, labor fire alarm be stricken out. Ayes--Gill,Samrlons,Z4yers, Nays--C iauser,Lowe,.Atkinson,Morrison, Rogalsky,Hoffman Ayes: 3 Nays--6 Motion lost. Alderman dyers questioned the consideration of the original detailed Budget , claiming that the Council should consider this Budget in its revised form as required by the Uniform System of Accounting. By Alderman Morrison: seconded by Alderman Lowe: RESOLVED: that the Council act on the original detailed Budget as adopted and filed by the Fire Commissioners, that on the completion and approval of this Budget the ssme be rear,,anged by the Clerk and Fire Chief to agree with the Uniform System of Accounting. Ayes--9 Nays--0 Carried By Alderman P.Zorr.ison: seconded by Alderman Hoffman: RESOLVED: that the requisition of $2,500 for "Repairs to Apparatus" be reduced to 12,000. Salary By Alderman Rogalsky: seconded by Alderman Lowe: Fire RESOLVED: that the salary of the fire Chief Chief be and the same is hereby fixed at $3,100 per year, with the understanding that he is to furnish and maintain a car for answering; fire alarms. By Alderman Morrison: seconded by Alderman Causer: RESOLVED: that an increase of $100 in salary be allowed the Fire Alarm Operator,Tillerman and drivers. Ayes--10 Nays--O Unanimously Carried. By Alderman Morrison: seconded by Alderman Hoffman: RESOLVED: that an item of $2,000 be added to Cass the Budget for the purchase and maintenance of two new cars, one for the use of the Assistant Fire Chief, and one for the Superintendent of Fire Alarm. During the discussion and before the vote was taken Aldermen Sammons and Myers retired . Aye8--8 Nays-0 Motion Carried. JS Budget 1930 By Alderman Morrison: seconded by Alderman Hoffman: RESOLVED: that the Budget of the Fire Department as amended in the total sum of $64,223.00 be and the same is hereby approved. Ayes--8auser;Lowe Atkinson,Morrison, Rogal s�y,Giil,Casterline,Hoffman Nays--O Motion Carried. The Fire Chief and Fire Commissioners then retired and the Council was addressed by the Mayor who suggested that in levying the Public Improvement assessments for Cliff Street etc. , the Council allow the property owners a period of 5 years at 61,10 interest in which to pay their assessments after the 6 month' s period without interest had expired. It was agreed that the assessments would be levied in accordance with the recommendation of the Mayor. Snyder,C .A. Chainberla,in Appointed The Mayor announced that he had announted C .A.Snyder as City Chamberlain, appointment to take effect as of January 1,1930, for the ensuing two years, and on motion of Alderman Lowe the appointment was approved.
