Mayor Howe announced the purpose of the Special Meeting was to consider a. request from \ ....../ the Board of Public Works for additional appro– pria.tion in accordance with the resolution passed at the Board' s meeting, Nov. 13th, that is an additional appropriation of not • over x$14,700 to complete the work of filling the Airport by the State Dredge and to clean out the silt,gravel, stone etc. , that accumulatedin Cascadi.11a. Creek due to the heavy rains of last summer ; the re–appropriation of earnings and revenues of the Board over and above the Budget estimate ; and authorisation to transfer ii any surplus; that may accrue in one branch of the service under the jurisdiction and Budget of the Board to cover any deficit that may accrue in some other- branch . li i( Clerk Kerr explained the requisition and also the present financial condition, and estimated that if these additional appropria– tions were made and expended, there would still be a substantial cash balance at the close of the year, due to some revenues exceeding the Budget estimates.
