Due notice having been given (a copy of which is
attached hereto) the Mayor continued a Special Meeting of
I.. the Council to consider matters relating to a petition
I filed by the Ithaca Street Railway Company asking for
certain concessions and an amended Franchise.
Ithaca Street
Railway Co. , Mr. Sherman Peer and I r. Donald Stewart were
State Street present in behalf of the Street Railway Company. After
considerable discussion the following resolutions
were duly adopted .
By Alderman Morrison: seconded by Alderman Causer: '
RESOLVED: that the Common Council hereby goes on
record as being in favor of abolishing the clause ,in

RESOLVED: that the Common Council hereby approves
and favors the plan for the improvement of StatebStreet
as 'outlined and recommended. by Superintendent Onkley,viz.
State St. that the Street Railway Company will completely rehabilitate l
it S trackage retaining the present established track grade
paving from the foot of East State Street Hill to Albany Street,
program and the Common Council hereby recommends to the Board of
Public Works that they proceed at once with the resurfacing
of State Street on this basis and at an estimated cost I
of 418,000. '

geetion of Alderman Comfort explained to the Council the ,
Mrs.Walkellogr►ita1 and other bills that were held up by the Finance
Committee from the previous audit. After some discussion
the Council accepted the explanation given unanimously
`agreeing that the bills should be paid and presented for
formal approval at the next meeting.
