Summer Youth Employment funding shortfall, identification of potential resources
Bohn reported that there is currently no State or Federal funds currently available to support summer
youth employment this year and at the Mayor’s request he had investigated potential IURA resources.
He noted that last year State and Federal funding supported approximately 400 summer jobs for youth
ages 14-24 because of the stimulus and approximately 200 youth in Tompkins County are served in a
typical year. According to the Workforce Investment Board, funding of approximately $1,800 is requ
