Coaches will meet with Me and Machell on November 21 or 22 to plan a course that will meet everyones needs for HS and Collegiate rules. Might be able to work with SUNY Cortland GPS Mapping Department to help develop course markings and key start and finish points. All coaches love the Bryne Dairy property because its peaks, valleys but most importantly spectator viewing. (My concern is getting approval and farm crops?) Once trail is developed SUNY Cortland could maintain for events task - painting lines, start and finish line needs, race equipment, ect… Areas of concern- Strategic planning to accommodate park future development and the course, runners can’t cross roads/asphalt due to spikes and safety concerns, steepness of hill, running surface needs to be somewhat smooth, Some wood chip are too large, GLSC offers good parking, restrooms, pavilion, ect… Idea running surfaces - natural grass, small crushed stone, small wood chips Possible fitness trail exercise stations could be developed over time that will appeal to community members. Goal is to have a course for use in the fall of 2023 (Site approvals and Development)
