UPDATE FROM TOWN SUPERVISOR,KATELIN OLSON:
Greetings, Ulyssians!
Apparently I frightened spring off with my last message,so I'm going to wish you a happy 8th day of May instead. If I wished you a
glorious snow day, might I encourage the sun to emerge?I'm willing to run that risk!
Just a short missive to thank our Conservation and Sustainability Advisory Committee,especially Cait Darfler,for leading a very
successful Tru-Uly Earth Care Day last Saturday.Thank you also to everyone who participated and showed our lovely community a bit
of care and love.
This weekend is the annual yard sale day in the Village.You can find the map here.
Next Tuesday at 7pm,the Town Board will again be gathering for our regular first meeting of the month,where we will open a public
hearing on the draft 2025-2045 Comprehensive Plan.This is the first public hearing for the Town Board,and the 13th that has been
held on comprehensive plan drafts(i.e. 12 public hearings by the Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee).Your comments and
feedback are welcome,and you can always send them in writing to clerk townofulyssesnygov.The Town Board intends to keep the
public hearing open until the May 28th meeting.
FILM SCREENING FOR WORLD BEE DAY:
The Town of Ulysses Bee Friendly Community Committee will host a showing of the award-winning 2025 film The Little Things that
Run the World at 7pm on Wednesday May 20,2026 at the Ulysses Philomathic Library in honor of World Bee Day.Admission is free
and run time is 105 minutes. (see flyer attached)
"I VOTED"STICKER CONTEST:
The Tompkins County Board of Elections(BOE)is inviting young artists across Tompkins County to make their mark on democracy
through its annual Election Sticker Design Contests.This year's theme celebrates the 250th anniversary of the signing of the
Declaration of Independence,giving students a chance to honor America's birthday with bold,creative designs in red,white,and
blue.The BOE encourages all eligible students to participate and help make America's 250th birthday celebration one that truly
reflects the creativity of Tompkins County.
Two contests are being offered-one for older students and one for younger artists.Contest rules and electronic submission form are
available at[tcgov.co/2026sticker]tcgov.co/2026sticker. Entries must be submitted by May 25.
APPLICATIONS BEING ACCEPTED FOR TOWN BOARD VACANCY:
The Town Board is seeking to fill a vacancy through the end of this year(Dec.31,2026).

• General governance of the town
• Adopts annual budget
• Supports initiatives for the improvement of health,safety,and well-being of the general public
Meetings:
• 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 7pm for about 2 hours;special meetings as necessary
• Prep for meetings takes about 1-2 hours
Qualifications:
• Town of Ulysses(includes the Village of Trumansburg)resident
• At least 18 years of age
• Member of the electorate

LANDSCAPER NEEDED:
The Town of Ulysses is looking for a very part-time landscaper. If you know your plants and would like to help us out for 1-2 every few

ANNUAL WATER QUALITY:
The Annual Water Quality Report from Bolton Point has been released.This is applicable if you are in Town of Ulysses Water District
3 or 4 as your water comes from Bolton Point via the Town of Ithaca.
