UPDATE FROM TOWN SUPERVISOR:
Greetings,Ulyssians!
Happy New Year!Our family celebrated the end of the year with multi-generational poker.My nearly 10-year-old busted twice,bailed out by
parents and siblings,declaring it was fun to go"all in"even with an ace high-card hand.The rest of us all walked away with varying size piles of
pennies and nickels,but her enthusiasm(even if wildly misplaced in poker)resonated in the waning hours of 2025.
In 2026,what will you be"all in"for,with optimism and joy? Some of my intentions are larger goals:creating and supporting public spaces
that are welcoming and inclusive;providing space for and fostering dialogue that is civil and meaningful.Others are more personal:new
recipes tried,forgotten muscle groups located,accomplishments more frequently measured in hugs,high fives,and laughter.
Each January 1st also brings a bittersweet note.This year I must express my deep appreciation to Richard Goldman(12 years)and Mary
Bouchard(5 years)for their thoughtful,skillful,and congenial service on the Ulysses Town Board.They have embodied the values of service
over self.They were consistently steadfast stewards of the Town's resources and leaders in making Ulysses healthier and more fiscally
resilient.
Thank you also to Anne Koreman for her 8 years representing Ulysses on the Tompkins County Legislature. Her steadfast support of our town
and advocacy for housing,equity,and environmental improvements(as well as many other important issues)county-wide was deeply
impactful.
This new year brings new Town board members,and I'm very pleased to welcome Thomas Knipe and Steven Manley to their first term.You
can reach Steve at.manle (@townofuIy5.sesny gov and Tom at knipeC@townofulyssesny gov. We'll kick off the year with our organizational
meeting on Wednesday,January 5 at 3:30pm,and our first regular board meeting will be on Tuesday,January 13 at 7pm.Our meeting
schedule is always available here.
As always,I'm at supervisor(cDtownofulyssesny.gov and my current read is Tell Me Everything by Elizabeth Strout.(Thanks to those who've
shared they enjoyed my occasional book inclusions.)

Planning Board Tues.1/6 at 7pm
Town Board 2026 Organizational Meeting-Wed.,1/7 at 3:30pm
Public Hearing on 2026 Fire Agreement-Tues. 1/13 at 7pm
2026 TOWN&COUNTY TAXES:
2026 Town&County tax bills were mailed this week.As a reminder,they are due without a penalty by February 2,2026(since January 31 falls
on a Saturday).
