SUBJECT: UPCOMING CONSERVATION BOARD MEETING – NOVEMBER 2, 2023
This is to confirm that the next meeting of the Conservation Board (CB) is Thursday,
November 2nd at 5:30 p.m. The agenda for this meeting is enclosed (see the back of
this memo).
The draft minutes from the October 5th meeting were not available to include in the
packet.
At this meeting, we will have Joe Talbut, the Town’s Parks Maintenance Manager, join
us to discuss the mowing of Town parks and trails. This topic was raised earlier this
summer after receiving comments from a couple Town residents.
Also at this meeting we will continue the conversation on indigenous environmental
justice with Mike R.
We would also like to provide an update on the Town’s deer management program and
some potential changes for next year. The Town Board recently had a five-year
review/discussion of the program and discussed a few ways to potentially improve the
program. The idea of the CB assisting with some browse monitoring in the future was
also discussed with the Town Board, so we would like to continue that conversation.
