Minutes of Regular Meeting January 2, 2017

The Meeting was opened at 7:09 PM
Public Comments/Privilege of the Floor
Ronda said she talked to Andy Zepp about a Danby resident giving her property in a will, but he did
not know anything about it. Mary will talk to them. Ronda asked that the dates of meetings be included in
the annual report.

Matt did not submit the minutes in time for tonight’s meeting.
Agenda
Reports from Members
Mary talked to Ray Van der Bogart about a piece of land that is under some kind of federal easement.
She shared that easements are complicated and take a long time to finalize. Joel says that refining the
easement template may be a good idea. It has a common section that is actually not common to the other
sections. He said the template was basically reduced from a larger document. Matt asked about the FLLT
easement. Joel says it was 26 pages. Mary asked about printing out more brochures. She has another contact
that she is engaging.
Matt asked about doing presentations to local groups on for the public. Suggestions were to reach out
to local groups to do this for (church, senior sessions, groups of property owners, pirates and bow hunting
clubs, birders, fire department). Matt will put together a presentation. He will work with CJ to get info and
Mary wants to help.
There was discussion about doing an article for the Danby Town News. We should make a schedule
for a year of articles year.
There was discussion about doing more outdoor walks, like Don’s tree walk this past year. Don could
do trees and Bill birds on a walk. They will discuss – maybe a mid-May walk. Get someone to do a twig and
bark walk.
Annual Report
Joel submitted annual report to the CAC. There was discussion about the section on how the CAC
might become a Conservation Advisory Board. There have been discussions with CJ about collecting the

info to do this. We may need to try and recruit volunteers to work on critical environmental area and
collecting data.
Joel made suggested changes from Mary. Jenny asked for a slight change in the Water District section.
Joel made changes. Joel will submit to the town board.
Bill asked about picture size for easement monitoring, average size of pics is 0.5GB for each visit. Bill
will talk to Pamela and ask her about this. Matt talked to Ted Melchen and Palmer’s about walking their
properties. Ted asked to do this when the weather was better and Matt will talk to Erik Palmer again.
