Minutes of Regular Meeting July 27, 2015

Discussion
No representative at fun day.
Report from Dan K about EMC (Environmental Management Council). He is county member. There
will be a meeting in Ithaca October 15, 16, 17. CAC members are welcome to attend.
Matt reported on webpage – from email: “Webpage update: I am now an administrator for the webpage. This
means I can make additions, deletions, and changes, etc. I have already updated our membership and added some
minutes. I will continue to tweak things and discover what our capabilities are. I suggest that at our next meeting we
carve some time out for me to present what I have learned and discuss ideas for the page(s).”
Management plans. Joel says not much has happened since the walk on the Water Tower property.
There was discussion of town properties and that cemeteries are also town property. Mary is going to
look into cemeteries owned by the town. She will report back to CAC.
List of things to consider for management plans: How complete does the inventory need to be?
Should management plan be based on inventory? Should inventorying be part of management plan?
Don said this is a living document. Dan: leave it alone, log it, open to public. Don: management
plan: broad picture of property. Don to touch base with CJ (CJ Randall is the Town Planner. She was
on city of Ithaca CAC. Her position is half time.) Joel will ask Andy Zepp (Executive Director,
FLLT) about FLLT’s plan for property. Joel will talk to water district, too and get their input.

Motion to go into Executive Session to Discuss Easements. Joel moved. Dan seconded. All
Approved
Discussion (Cont’d)
Generating more easements. Send a letter to anyone who owns more than 20 acres. CJ may be able to
generate list. Dan will write draft letter. Dan will contact CJ.
Matt will check with CJ about easement booklet.
Joel: Carbon Tax. Joel raised the issue of the CAC wiring a resolution to support the Carbon Tax.
After discussion Joel said he would provide more information and create a sample resolution.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 PM.
The next meeting is August 24, 2015 at 7:00PM.
