TO: ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS

RE: 112 Midway Road
REPORT: A zoning permit application to allow existing 8’ high mesh fence(s) to remain has
been denied. The fences are located from 0’ to 21’ from the front property line(s),
which is less than the 25’ required by Zoning Ordinance Section 6: Yard.
The applicant has requested a variance to allow the existing fence(s) to remain
as constructed, “or in the alternative, a variance conditioned upon a requirement
that portions of the existing fence be replaced with new, professionally
constructed fencing and gates intended to be more attractive with a greater
setback in the vicinity of the corner and with more functional gate”. Therefore, a
Public Hearing has been scheduled on August 22, 2012 @ 7:15 pm at the Village
Hall, 836 Hanshaw Road, to hear public comment on this case.
It should be noted that this property is a corner lot and therefore has a front yard
on Midway Road and Klinewoods Road.
