HomeMy WebLinkAboutReport of the Nominating Committee 2/28/1972REPORT OF THE NOMINATING COMMITTEE VILLAGE OF CAYUGA HEIGHTS 'i The Mayor appointed a Nominating Committee of four residents of the Village to recommend at the Annual Meeting, February 28, 1972, nominations for the following elective positions: Mayor Village Justice Three Trustees -to serve two -year terms Procedure 1. An announcement of the appointment of the Committee was carried in the Ithaca Journal with the request that interested residents of the Village submit their recommendations to the Committee. 2. The Village Clark provided the Committee with a list of past Trustees and Village Officers, together with the eligibility requirements for holding office in the Village of Cayuga Heights. 3. The Committee sought recommendations from residents of the Village and held several meetings to review the names submitted to it. Twenty -three names in addition to the names of the three incumbents were received and each person so recommended was contacted and interviewed by one or more of the Committee members. Recommendations 1. The Committee recommends that the following residents of the Village of Cayuga Heights be placed in nomination for the vacancies noted: For Mayor: For Village Justice: For Village Trustee: *Incumbent Frederick G. Marcham William Tucker Dean Harold R. Fisher* William D. Fowler Mrs. Clara Golay Carl H. Nelson* Mrs. Sharon Petrillose Rane F. Randolph* 2. The Committee further recommends that all residents of the Village be notified by an appropriate flyer by the Clerk of the Village of Cayuga Heights of the nominations. The said flyer to contain a short (50 words) biography of each candidate for Village Trustee and said biography to be prepared by each candidate and submitted to the Village Clerk.
