SUBJECT: UPCOMING CONSERVATION BOARD MEETING – November 6, 2014
This is to confirm that the next meeting of the Conservation Board (CB) is Thursday,
November 6th at 5:30 p.m. The agenda for this meeting is enclosed (see the back of
this memo). The draft minutes from the October 2, 2014 meeting were not available for
the mail out, but I will email them to everyone if they are ready before the meeting.
At this meeting we will have a presentation on form-based codes (zoning) from
consultants working with the Town and City on a Cleaner Greener NYSERDA grant to
educate and implement a form-based code in the City and Town of Ithaca. For those
not familiar with the form-based code concept, attached is a brief handout from the
Form-Based Code Institute.
Also at this meeting we will continue to discuss the pest management policy research
from other communities and see if there are any updates regarding deer management
in the Town and County.
Under Other Business, there are two items for the CB to discuss and potentially make
recommendations to the Town Board - the Tompkins County Environmental
Management Council membership is up for re-appointment and we have received an
application for a new CB member.
I believe that Kristine has signed up to take minutes at the November meeting.
