SUBJECT: UPCOMING CONSERVATION BOARD MEETING – DECEMBER 3, 2015
This is to confirm that the next meeting of the Conservation Board (CB) is Thursday,
December 3rd at 5:30 p.m. The agenda for this meeting is enclosed (see the back of
this memo). The draft minutes from the November 5, 2015 meeting were not available
for the mailout.
At this meeting, Lima Hossain from Ithaca College (Economics and Mathematics
Program) will present her findings on the three tiered pricing for the Bolton Point
municipal water system. Lima initially discussed her project with the CB at the July
2015 meeting.
We will also continue the discussion of deer management and what strategies and
plans the CB would like to pursue to move forward. A draft resolution was provided by
email (paper copy attached) for the CB to consider. Please email or come to the
meeting with suggested revisions. Based on the conversation at the November
meeting, my understanding was that the primary recommendation to the Town Board
was to set up a special committee/group for deer management.
We will also begin a discussion on the use of goats as an environmentally friendly weed
and invasive species control.
Under Other Business, I have included the usual end of the year activities. The CB will
need to discuss nominations for the 2016 Chair and Vice-Chair positions along with the
2016 meeting schedule.
Eva has signed up to take minutes at the November meeting.
