SUBJECT: UPCOMING CONSERVATION BOARD MEETING – OCTOBER 1, 2015
This is to confirm that the next meeting of the Conservation Board (CB) is Thursday,
October 1st at 5:30 p.m. The agenda for this meeting is enclosed (see the back of this
memo). The draft minutes from the September 3, 2015 meeting are attached.
At this meeting we will have a presentation and discussion on deer management by
Bernd Blossey from Cornell University, Department of Natural Resources. We expect
that he will have a short presentation on various deer management ideas and
experiences, along with plenty of time for questions and discussion.
Last December, a pdf of the document “An Integrated Approach for Managing White-
Tailed Deer in Suburban Environments: The Cornell University Study” by Jason R.
Boulanger, Paul D. Curtis and Bernd Blossey was provided to the CB. The document
can be found at http://wildlifecontrol.info/deer/Documents/IDRM_12-5-2014.pdf. If
anyone would like a paper copy of the document, please let me know and I can bring
them to the October 1st meeting.
Elizabeth has volunteered to take minutes at the October meeting.
