SUBJECT: UPCOMING CONSERVATION BOARD MEETING – February 5, 2015
This is to confirm that the next meeting of the Conservation Board (CB) is Thursday,
February 5th at 5:30 p.m. The agenda for this meeting is enclosed (see the back of
this memo). The draft minutes from the November 6, 2014 and December 4, 2014
meeting are attached.
Since the January meeting was cancelled, at this meeting we will take some time to
discuss the work priorities and various committee assignments for 2015. Included in the
materials is the draft “Conservation Board 2015 Work Goals” which the CB will need to
review and discuss what changes are necessary for 2015. I have also attached the
draft “Conservation Board Committees 2015” list, which I have started to update.
Please review this list and be thinking what other changes you would like to see for
2015.
We will also continue to discuss the pest management policy research from other
communities and see if there are any updates regarding deer management in the Town
and County.
Also included on the agenda is a suggestion from a Town resident to include some type
of signage at Town Park entrances to warn of the possibility of ticks and Lyme disease.
The CB is being asked for input on this idea and for any recommendations for the
design/message of any signage. I will bring photos of a couple possible examples to
the 2/5 meeting.
We will also need to spend some time under the regular reports and updates to review
any nominations for the 2014 Fischer Award. I have emailed out to everyone the one
nomination that I have received.
I believe that James has signed up to take minutes at the February meeting. I will bring
the sign-up sheet for the 2015 minutes for those that have not signed up yet.
