SUBJECT: UPCOMING CONSERVATION BOARD MEETING – NOVEMBER 3, 2016
This is to confirm that the next meeting of the Conservation Board (CB) is Thursday,
November 3rd at 5:30 p.m. The agenda for this meeting is enclosed (see the back of
this memo). The draft minutes from the October 6, 2016 meeting were not available to
include in the packet.
At this meeting we will continue the discussion regarding the maintenance of the
bluebird houses at Town facilities. I had a chance to walk a section of the South Hill
Recreation Way recently and noticed that there are still a lot of boxes up, but most are
in very poor shape or have become overgrown and would need to be relocated. I also
did a quick search on YouTube for “eastern bluebird box maintenance for kids” and
found a lot of videos on construction and maintenance of bluebird boxes. The CB may
want to look at some of these videos to provide suggestions to any groups interested in
helping with this project.
We will also continue the discussion on deer management and have an update from the
ad hoc deer management committee.
Eva has signed up to take minutes at the November meeting.
