SUBJECT: UPCOMING CONSERVATION BOARD MEETING – SEPT 1, 2016
This is to confirm that the next meeting of the Conservation Board (CB) is Thursday,
September 1st at 5:30 p.m. The agenda for this meeting is enclosed (see the back of
this memo). The draft minutes from the August 4, 2016 meetings are attached.
At this meeting we will continue the discussion regarding the maintenance of the
bluebird houses at Town facilities. Rich Schoch has provided me with his spreadsheet
showing the locations and numbers of all the birdhouses. He knows that some of the
boxes have been removed and that the spreadsheet was last updated in 2010/2011, but
it is a good starting point. The spreadsheet shows that there were 189 bluebird boxes
at one point, with approximately 145 of them located on Town park, trail, or water tank
properties. I will provide copies of the spreadsheet at the meeting.
We will also continue the discussion on deer management and have an update from the
ad hoc deer management committee.
Eva has agreed to take minutes at the September meeting.
