SUBJECT: UPCOMING CONSERVATION BOARD MEETING – JUNE 2, 2016
This is to confirm that the next meeting of the Conservation Board (CB) is Thursday,
June 2nd at 5:30 p.m. The agenda for this meeting is enclosed (see the back of this
memo). The draft minutes from the April 7, 2016 meeting is attached.
At this meeting we will discuss ideas to see if the CB would like to host another event
this summer as part of the third annual NY Invasive Species Awareness Week (July 10th
– 16th). As you will recall, the CB has hosted a swallow wort education and pulling
event at the Town’s East Ithaca Nature Preserve and an education and removal event
for swallow wort and garlic mustard at the Town’s water tank on Teton Court the past
two years. More information about the ISAW can be found at: www.nyis.info/blog/.
We will also continue the discussion on deer management and have an update from the
ad hoc deer management committee.
We will need a volunteer to take minutes at the June meeting.
