SUBJECT: UPCOMING CONSERVATION BOARD MEETING – MAY 5, 2016
This is to confirm that the next meeting of the Conservation Board (CB) is Thursday,
May 5th at 5:30 p.m. The agenda for this meeting is enclosed (see the back of this
memo). The draft minutes from the April 7, 2016 meeting are attached.
At this meeting we will have Rich Schoch, the Town’s Parks Maintenance Manager, join
us to discuss the invasive plant removal and native replanting that has occurred over
the past couple years in several Town parks and trails. The CB may wish to discuss
ways the CB can support these efforts and help publicize the environmental benefits
from what the Town is doing.
We will also spend some time finalizing plans for the May 14th Fischer Award tree
planting ceremony to honor the Cayuga Nature Center’s Summer Camp Program.
We will also continue the discussion on deer management and get an update from the
ad hoc deer management committee.
We will need a volunteer to take minutes at the May meeting.
