SUBJECT: UPCOMING CONSERVATION BOARD MEETING – APRIL 6, 2017
This is to confirm that the next meeting of the Conservation Board (CB) is Thursday,
April 6th at 5:30 p.m. The agenda for this meeting is enclosed (see the back of this
memo). The draft minutes from the March 2, 2017 meeting are attached.
At this meeting we will have Lance Ebel from Newleaf Environmental LLC join us to
discuss the Town’s tree inventory (Town roads and walkways) and forest assessment
Town parks and preserves) grant project. Lance will discuss what he did and the
general results from the project. I will email everyone a couple examples of the final
forest assessments from the project and bring paper copies to the meeting.
We will also spend some time at this meeting to start planning for the Fischer Award
tree planting ceremony to honor the Black Diamond Trail Enthusiasts Network. We are
currently looking at potential planting locations in the City’s Cass Park near the Black
Diamond Trail entrance.
We will also continue the discussions regarding the maintenance of bluebird houses at
Town facilities, have an update on the deer management report (a current draft is
attached), and continue discussions for possibly participating in an Earth Day event
(April 22nd).
Will has signed up to take minutes at the April meeting.
