SUBJECT: UPCOMING CONSERVATION BOARD MEETING – JUNE 7, 2018
This is to confirm that the next meeting of the Conservation Board (CB) is Thursday,
June 7th at 5:30 p.m. The agenda for this meeting is enclosed (see the back of this
memo). The draft minutes from the January 4, 2018 and May 3, 2018 meetings were

At this meeting we will have Mark Whitmore (Forest Entomologist, Department of
Nature Resources, Cornell University) join us to discuss the progress of research to
assess the effectiveness/suitability of various biocontrol agents of Hemlock Woolly
Adelgid.
We will also discuss ideas to see if the CB would like to host another event this summer
as part of the 5th annual NY Invasive Species Awareness Week (July 8 – 14). This
year’s theme is “What YOU can do to stop the spread!”. They are focusing on positive
actions people can take to prevent the spread of invasive species. More information
about the ISAW can be found at https://stoptheinvasionny.com/about/ or

We will also discuss the draft “Good Faith Commitment” statement that was emailed out
by Mike Roberts (attached).
