SUBJECT: UPCOMING CONSERVATION BOARD MEETING – MAY 7, 2020
This is to confirm that the next meeting of the Conservation Board (CB) is Thursday,
May 7th at 5:30 p.m. The agenda for this meeting is enclosed (see the back of this
memo). The draft minutes from the April 2, 2020 meetings are attached.
As you probably are expecting, this CB meeting will be conducted through the video
conferencing website Zoom (https://zoom.us/). I believe that everyone is familiar with
Zoom at this point, but you can connect from home using either your
computer/tablet/cell phone with video or call in by phone (cell phone or landline). The
instructions and code for connecting are on the top of the attached agenda and I will
also email everyone a separate invitation with a direct link for the meeting.
At this meeting we will discuss ideas for hosting a virtual/remote activity as part of NYS
Invasive Species Awareness Week (June 7-13). The theme for this year is “2020
Vision: Focus on Invasive Species” and you can find out more about NYISAW at
https://nyisaw.org/. The initial discussion last month was to post something on the CB
Facebook page each day during that week.
At the April meeting there was a discussion about the use of compostable or
biodegradable take out containers. A couple members were going to do some
additional research on this and we hope to have an update at this meeting.
Elizabeth has signed up to take minutes at the May meeting.

Because of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Town of Ithaca Conservation Board Meeting
scheduled for May 7, 2020 will be held electronically via Zoom, instead of a public meeting open for
the public to attend in person. Members of the public may listen to (call in on cell or landline: (929)
