Minutes 8/2/1999120 Minutes of the Special Meeting August 2, 1999 VILLAGE OF CAYUGA HEIGHTS BOARD OF TRUSTEES Minutes of a Special Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Cayuga Heights held August 2, 1999, at 4:30 PM in the village Hall. Present: Mayor Anderson, Trustees Fleming, Kim, Dunning, Kusse, and Bisogni, Treasurer Silber, Clerk Kord. . Absent: Trustee Meinhardt, Supt. of PW Cross, Attorney Tyler. Mayor Anderson called the meeting to order at 4:30 PM. The first order of business was the public bids for the diesel back -up generator for the sewer plant. Mayor Anderson presented the bids and there was a discussion of the merits of the two bids received, one from Penn Power Systems of Syracuse and the other from Syracuse Supply. Penn Power proposed a Spectrum Detroit Diesel 275 DSE for $46,647.00, with installation by TCG of Syracuse at a cost of $51,660.00, for a total cost of $98,307.00. The Syracuse Supply proposed a Caterpillar 3406 at a cost of $47,737.00, installation by Richardson Brothers of Ithaca at a cost of $37,450.00, for a total cost of $95,187.00 with a 10 -week completion time. Syracuse Supply also proposed a smaller generator, a 300kw rate Caterpillar 3406 with an oversized generator for a cost of $37,500.00. The Board felt that with future needs of the Village the larger capacity was a better investment. RESOLUTION 5031- To accept bid for Back -up Generator Motion by Trustee Kira, seconded by Trustee Fleming, VOTED to accept the bid from Syracuse Supply for a Caterpillar 3406 for $47,737.00, installed by Richardson Bros. For $37,450.00, for a total cost of $95,187.00. Acceptance contingent upon approval by Brent Cross, Village Engineer, Trustees, Kira, Fleming, Bisogni, Kusse and Dunning voted YES. Trustee Kusse noted that there is a potentially dangerous situation at the corner of Devon Rd. and N. Sunset Rd. Cars and trucks are parking close to the intersection and blocking the view of oncoming traffic. Mayor Anderson will investigate the situation and speak with the police. It was noted that the islands on N. Triphammer Rd. are unsightly. Trustee Fleming noted that Supt. of PW Cross is getting an estimate from Cayuga Landscape. Mayor Anderson reported that Attorney Tyler has been studying the complaint about the Day Care facility on Highgate Rd. Attorney Tyler has found that the facility would be looked on favorably by the State if they meet the proper requirements for numbers of children and caregivers. The Board has declined to take any action at this time, but asked that Attorney Tyler continue to look into the situation, and that Mayor Anderson speak with the police about parking at the facility. Motion by Trustee Fleming, seconded by Trustee, Bisogni, VOTED to adjourn the Special Meeting of the Board of Trustees at 5:00 PM. Trustees, Kira, Fleming, Bisogni, Kusse and Dunning voted YES.
