HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 4974- Funding for Sterns & Wheler Report to come from waste water treatment plant reserveRESOLUTION 4974 — FUNDING FOR STERNS & WHELER REPORT TO COME FROM WASTE WATER TREATMENT PLANT RESERVE Voted to fund the Engineering Services by Steams and Wheler for $22,700.00. Monies to come from the Waste Water Treatment Plant Reserve. Trustees Bisogni, Kira, Collyer, and Kusse voted YES. Four businesses in the Commercial District require approval to have their operating permits renewed. These special permits expire after 5 years of operation. These businesses have submitted letters asking for extension of their permits. There was a discussion of Special Permits and the need to require renewal every five years since most Special Permits are of indefinite length. This matter is deferred until the next meeting, because of the lateness of the hour. .......................................... •.............................1 Assistant Fire Chief Evans submitted the Fire Department monthly report, which is on file, and reported on the following: He thanked Supt. of P.W. Cross for the work that he had done with the architects on the fire house project. And also thanked the Board for their support. The fire department has received a $5,000 donation from an anonymous donor, which will be used for medical and computer equipment. The 6 tires on the ladder truck will be replaced for approximately $400.00 each. Attorney Tyler requested input from the attendees of the Risk Management Seminar with reference to the Village Sexual Harassment policy. Both Supt. of P.W. Cross and Police Chief Lansing agreed that it is important that the language of the policy be reexamined. They suggested that Robert Banuski of Amtek, who led the seminar, be given the opportunity to look at it and make recommendations. .......................................... ........................ I Treasurer Silber made his monthly report, which is on file, and reported on the following: - Department Heads need to get necessary information to him 4 to 5 days before monthly meetings. - He is still investigating the options on Health Insurance coverage. - He discussed the impact of the lowering of the threshold for military exemptions. There are 4 different military exemptions that would affect approx. 100 tax parcels valued at approx. $800,000. - There were two transfer made. From To Amount A5110.42 Street Supply A5110.45 Street Contract Exp $4,000 A1990.40 Contingency A8160.42 Refuse Supply 6,500 Motion by Trustee Collyer, seconded by Trustee Kira; RESOLUTION 4975 — APPROVE TRANSFERS Voted to approve transfers as listed in Treasurer's report. Trustees Bisogni, Kira, Collyer and Kusse voted YES The final audit report should be available next month. He will start budget process in January. Motion by Trustee Collyer, seconded by Trustee Kira; Voted to approve the Abstract of Warrants dated December 21, 1998 in the following amounts: General Fund: $50,406.02; Sewer Fund: $46,747.49; Water Fund: $75,793.43. Trustees Bisogni, Kira, Collyer and Kusse voted YES. Police Chief Lansing submitted his report, which is on file, and reported on the following: - There has been a large reduction in the amount of overtime in the department, but it is still not acceptable. - He reported that Officer Cain has had his surgery and is doing well. - He has ordered a new police car and saved $1,100.00 over bid. - All -Mode repaired the 911 line but will absorb the $200.00 charge since the line is still under warranty. - There has been a request to purchase an old radar that is in the basement for $40.00. Chief Lansing will investigate to see if it has any antique value before setting the price. The Clerk made no report. Attorney Tyler recommended that the Village Map that is located in the Board Room in Marcham Hall dated January 1, 1960, revised 1977 should be used as the official map to designate boundaries in the zoning ordinances. (This was in response to a suggestion from the clerk that the property descriptions for the Zoning Ordinances be updated, some of which have pre -1950 property ownership references.)
