Anderson Members of the Board of Trustees Village Of Cayuga Heights SUBJECT: Report of the Police Department for December 1989 The Police Department handled 64 complaints and investigated 9 motor vehicle accidents during the month. There were 63 traffic tickets issued and 17 parking tickets issued during the month. There were two felony complaints for burglary. There were seven misdemeanor complaints: three for petit larceny, two for aggravated harassment, one for criminal trespass and one for criminal mischief. There were fifty -five miscellaneous complaints investigated by the Police Department. One person was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated during the month. The police department copy machine, which was purchased in 1984, has had numerous repairs and the costs to maintain it will be increasing. There have already been several repairs and the machine has had considerable "down time" on and off for the past three months. A proposal will be presented to the board regarding the purchase /lease of a new machine. The 1990 state bids have been awarded to the Ford Motor Company for the Police Car which is in this years budget. A request will be made at the board meeting for the authorization to order a 1990 Ford Police car at a cost not to exceed $14,000. There was a total of $5,690.00 in property lost or stolen during the month and $30.00 was recovered by the Police Department.
