Improvements to the Civil Service Application and Examination Processes
In order to enhance customer service Tompkins County Personnel is
implementing an online application process to replace our old paper based
system. Beginning August 23, 2011, we will begin taking applications through
our new secure on-line application system.
Once registered and your application submitted, you will have the ability to:
- track your applications online,
- have a complete history of previous applications,
- be able to quickly submit new applications with a click of a button,
- review your eligible lists,
- check your exam scores,
- complete the training and experience exams at the time of application
- sign up to receive email notifications of new examinations and vacancies in
your area(s) of interest as they are posted,
- receive all correspondence via email.
Along with the new application process we are also introducing some changes to
our examination program. As of July 1, 2011, we will have the ability to conduct
monthly testing in-house in our computerized testing facility located in the Old Jail
building for select titles such as Keyboard Specialist, Account Clerk Typist, Sr.
Typist, Clerk/Library Clerk, Caseworker, Public Health Technician, Mail Clerk,
and Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator.
