BACKGROUND: There have various requests from the public for a

SAFETY ANALYSIS:Based bn the "clean" features of the intersection, the
delineation of tlre crosswalk at thid location should enhance the safety of this
crossing. lt is nry opinion that no additional signage is needed to announce this
crosswalk as it is located at a intersection which is alreadY in
compliance witlh MUTCD for stop $ign requirements. The CH Police Chief has
ordered the installation of this cro$swalk on a trial 120 day basis with no know
problems identified
FEASIBILITY: Since the sid , curb ramps, and stop signs are already
installed, this project would onlY the "painting" of the stripes on the
pavement. The DPW has purchased a new painting machine and should
I on a regular basis (probably twice per year)be able to maintain the line striPi
without adding any cost to the budget.
RECOMMENDTATION: The installation of this crosswalk will
require approvral of the Village T . Therefore, I recommend that the
Trustees pass a resolution to the temporary crosswalk installation to
remain as a permanent Pedestri facility.
