RE: June 2011 Report
June seems to have been a quiet month for the Clerks office. The tax bills
continue to be collected with about 89,000 still outstanding. The biggest
complaint we have heard is the huge penalty for paying after the July 1st date.
June 16th was the first pay period in the new fiscal year that included the 2% pay
raise. Chief Boyce has worked with Attorney Johnston to reconcile the military
time and related payroll.
The ant problem seems to have been corrected in the Court Clerk’s office. It was
noted that there seems to be a hole in the roof which was their point of entry and
the reason for the water damage. The DPW crew was alerted and this issue has
been addressed.
There were no new FOIL requests in the month of June.
As of June 1st, three employees, the non-bargaining group, were moved from the
Teamsters Health insurance program into the Tompkins County Consortium
program. The Joint Committee continues to meet monthly and directly reports to
the Board of Directors for the Consortium any new developments. The Joint
Committee has been unable to vote on issues/items due to not having a quorum.
I will be working with Tim Kessler, the Village’s connection to the web site, to
gain access to enable direct input to the site for timely items and cutting down on
Village expense.
