Cross, Engineer Village of Cayuga Heights MARCHAM HALL 836 HANSHAW ROAD ITHACA, NEW YORK 14850 (607) 257-1238 fax (607) 257-4910 Highlights - August 8th Board of Trustee Meeting Call to order Public hearing on proposed Local Law E (sewer rents). Brent Cross explained that under the new plan, Villagers would be charged for actual water and sewer usage. No one spoke during the public hearing. Privilege of the Floor Issues addressed: the proposed addition to Marcham Hall, the fence ordinance, the deer reduction plan The Minutes of the July 18 meeting were approved. Mayor's report  There was some further explanation and discussion about sewer rents. The proposed Local Law E was passed.  The areas to be included in the deer browse study have not yet been chosen.  There was considerable discussion about proposed Local Law “I”, which is the proposed amendment to Section 9 of the Village of Cayuga Heights zoning ordinance. Police Chief’s report  Two of the full-time officers will be out for medical reasons and shifts will have to be covered with overtime. Superintendent Cross’ report  The Village of Cayuga Heights is required to submit an annual report to the DEC on the Stormwater Management program. A copy of the report may be found on the Village website and in the Village office.  There was a discussion and subsequent vote to replace the current radio system used by the DPW to the system currently used by the Village of Cayuga Heights Police and Fire departments. Clerk’s report  The Board of Trustees authorized Clerk Mills to attend the NYCOM conference in September.  The Trustees would like to know who the new people are coming into the Village in order to greet and welcome them.  The Clerk reminded everyone of the “Block Party” on August 31st planned by the Chemung Canal Trust Company. Treasurer’s report  Treasurer Greenberg is out of town and a special meeting is scheduled for August 16th at 1PM to approve the abstract. Trustee’s Privilege of the Floor  Trustee Hamilton formally welcomed Trustee Szekely after her recuperation period from a fall.  A reminder that the September Board of Trustee meeting will take place at the Fire Hall conference room.
