HomeMy WebLinkAboutLL 04 of 1997 Clarify Min Sewer RentsTown Board Meeting 7/7/97 Agenda Item No. 16 TOWN OF ITHACA LOCAL LAW NO._A_OFTHE YEAR 1997 A LOCAL LAW TO CLARIFY MINIMUM SEWER RENTS FOR PROPERTIES WITHOUT METERED WATER Be it enacted by the Town Board of the Town of Ithaca as follows: Section 1. Local Law No. 6 for the year 1986, adopted December 8, 1986, as subsequently amended by Local Law No. 7 of the year 1989,Local Law No. 12 of the year 1990, Local Law No.11 of the year 1993,Local Law No. 7 of the year 1994, and Local Law No. 12 is hereby further amended by adding a new paragraph at the end of paragraph 1 reading as follows: "In the event a property is connected to public sewer,but is not connected to a water meter, and is a not a one or two family dwelling, the sewer rate shall be based upon estimated water consumption as reasonably determined by the Town Engineer based upon /\recognized methods of estimating typical consumption for the type of facility involved 1 (e.g.gallons per day per bedroom).If such property is a one or two family dwelling, the sewer rent shall be $37.60. Section 2. In the event that any portion of this local law is declared invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction,the validity of the remaining portions shall not be affected by such declaration of invalidity. Section 3. This local law shall become effective January 1, 1998.
