Members of the Kendal at Ithaca Facility and Construction Team
Item 1 – Meeting called to order
· Chair M. Harms opened the meeting at 7:02 pm.
Item 2- August 26, 2013 Minutes

RESOLUTION No. 112
APPROVING MINUTES OF AUGUST 26, 2013
RESOLVE, that the written, reviewed and revised minutes of the August 26, 2013 meeting
are hereby approved.
Aye votes – Chair M. Harms, R. Segelken, F. Cowett
Opposed- None
Absent: S. Cunningham, G. Gillespie
S. Cunningham arrived at 7:03pm
Item 3- Public Comment
· No members of the general public were present to comment.
Item 4- Kendal at Ithaca Renovation and Addition Proposal
· Code Enforcement Officer B. Cross discussed with the Board the processes that have
occurred and the current status of the project.

· Attorney R. Marcus recommended the Board open the Public Hearing and leave the
hearing open until the next meeting.
· Chair M. Harms opened the Public Hearing.
· No members of the general public were present to speak.
· The Board discussed the aspects of the project with members of the renovation
construction team.
· G. Gillespie arrived at 7:16pm.
· The Public Hearing was adjourned until the October 28th Planning Board meeting.
· The Board reviewed and discussed Part 2 of the State Environmental Quality Review
(SEQR) Long Form. The Board will revisit question #20 after the closing of the Public
Hearing at the October 28th meeting.
· Kendal sent letters to the surrounding property owners and invited them to an open
house to discuss the project. 9 people attended.
· The Board tabled voting on a SEQR determination until the Public Hearing has been
closed.
· Attorney R. Marcus will prepare a resolution for the site plan review.
Item 5- Storage Structure at Kendal at Ithaca Presentation
· Kendal at Ithaca Facilities Director, Fred Jenson, gave a presentation describing the
proposed salt storage facility and answered questions for the Board.
· Attorney R. Marcus informed the Board this is a Type 2 Action and is exempt from
SEQR review referencing section 617.5(c)(7)
· The Board discussed holding Public Hearings for both Kendal projects at the next
meeting.

RESOLUTION No. 113
TO SCHEDULE A PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE KENDAL STORAGE STRUCTURE
RESOLVE, that the Village of Cayuga Heights Planning Board will hold a public hearing
regarding the Kendal salt storage project on Monday, October 28, 2013 at 7:05PM at
Marcham Hall.
Aye votes – Chair M. Harms, G. Gillespie, F. Cowett, S. Cunningham, R. Segelken
Opposed- None

RESOLUTION No. 114

TO CONTINUE THE PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE KENDAL EXPANSION PROJECT
RESOLVE, that the Village of Cayuga Heights Planning Board will continue the public
hearing regarding the Kendal expansion project on Monday, October 28, 2013 at 7:15PM at
Marcham Hall.
Aye votes – Chair M. Harms, G. Gillespie, F. Cowett, S. Cunningham, R. Segelken
Opposed- None
Item 6- Comprehensive Plan
· The special meeting to discuss the Comprehensive Plan scheduled by the Board of
Trustees for September 25 has been cancelled until further notice.
· Trustee Liaison S. Hamilton discussed with the Board recent edits and developments.
· F. Cowett informed the Board of items discussed during a meeting he attended with
Trustee Liaison S. Hamilton and Mayor Supron.
Item 7- Other Business
· No other business was discussed

Chair M. Harms adjourned the meeting at 9:05 pm.
